ATTENDING PSYCHOTHERAPY

I work by appointment only. Contact me by mobile or landline. I share the landline number with another therapist so please leave the message for Theresa and I will return your call.

INITIAL SESSION

The first meeting is a consultation. It's an opportunity to meet and talk about some personal details and practical considerations before therapy begins.

If you are thinking of taking time to look at your life you might think about some questions; What has prompted you to attend therapy at this particular time rather than earlier or indeed later? Why Now? What do you want to talk about in therapy? Who else is affected by the issues in your life, or how are you affected by their issues?

These reflective questions might offer a place to begin when you come in for the first time.

PRACTICAL ASPECTS

Coming to therapy requires a commitment to attend regularly. Generally therapy takes place weekly, certainly at the beginning.

A therapist can only see a limited number of people because of the nature of the work and each appointment is reserved solely for you. If you need to cancel for any reason I require two working days notice, unless you can reschedule within the same week payment will be required.

The fee for psychotherapy is based on whether I'm seeing an individual, couple or family. EMDR will also require some longer sessions 1.5hrs. Fees will be discussed on initial contact.

Appointments during the day time:
Tuesday 11am onward
